Oh boy, where to start... There are so many misconceptions regarding this.

Definition of a Soul Mate; A soulmate is a person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity. This may involve similarity, love, romance, friendship, comfort, intimacy, sexuality, sexual activity, spirituality, or compatibility and trust.
This all looks so good, and what you are looking for and want for your life.... but what they are not making clear is the karma attached to a Soul Mate.
A Soul Mate can help you learn the strongest lessons in life.
So lets take it apart and take a better look, shall we.
Yes, love takes work and love hurts... This is why, with a Soul mate you have lessons to learn along the way and they may not be your happily ever after...
It is not that you two are perfect for each other. In fact it is that you have a lot of work before you to balance karma. Are you lucky to find each other? In a manner of speaking, yes indeed. This helps you clear the negative away from your love life... even with the Soul Mate. This can perhaps be the most difficult person you ever encounter. You could have lifetimes of unfinished issues between the two of you. OR you could end up being the unlikely lucky one that gets all the positive and none of the negative.
In my personal experience The positive connecting feelings came early in our relationship and lasted for many years. Although the positive was very positive, there was still negative aspects to work through. Friendship, is finding the longevity by exploring your differences and learning to accept each other for who you both really are.
Comfort, is finding that place where you can both be truly comfortable in your own skin with each other, and with all your flaws exposed.
Intimacy, is all about feeling connection and putting it all together effectively. Sharing true intimacy is the best feeling and it is more rare after the butterflies fly away.
Sexuality, a Soul Mate helps you learn who you are in relation to them, and on your own. Your sexuality is the center of your being and it is your personal responsibility. How you connect with that sexuality is entirely within your being and this is something you may or may not share with your Soul Mate as it is a personal connection and a choice how you use it.
